About Patriot's Pet Care
Our Story
It all started with a trailblazer!
A family legacy of passion for pets and their people.
John Henry Hart Jr was co-founder & sole proprietor of Pet & Prim Parlor, Inc. Mr. Hart learned the pet care trade from Dr. Young along with then wife, Mrs. Evelyn D. Hart, who began grooming pets in their spare time. In an effort to professionalize their efforts, Mrs. Evelyn D. Hart coined the name Pet & Prim Parlor. Thus, Pet & Prim Parlor, Inc was officially established in 1967, in Columbia, SC's Historic Roosevelt Village Community. Mr. Hart went on to establish two more locations before God called him home Oct 29, 2014. For over 47 years, Mr. Hart was a true pioneer and visionary in the South Carolina pet care discipline and that same spirit of excellence inspires us today at Patriot's Pet Care.

It was the legacy of his father John Henry Hart Jr. that inspired his son, Dr. Ted Hart to accept an opportunity to develop an operation for pet-related services within Fort Jackson military installation. As a Veteran and American Patriot, Dr. Hart drew inspiration from his service to our nation to coin his operation “Patriot’s Pet Care”. Given the speed and complexity of the growth of the business and with the assistance of State Representative Beth Bernstein, Dr. Hart expanded Patriot’s Pet Care just outside the Fort Jackson’s Gate # 4 at the corner of Borden Arbor Drive and Percival Rd. The Patriot’s Pet Care mission is to be a dedicated pet care partner for pet parents in support of their pet loved one's overall well-being.
